The Roselli Hunting knife silver ferrule, UHC combines our original hunting knife design from 1976 with Roselli’s own Ultra High Carbon steel and an exclusive sterling silver ferrule. Originally developed for Finnish moose hunters, its minimalist and functional design has been shaped by decades of use in demanding Nordic conditions.
The 105 mm blade is designed for skinning, field dressing and controlled cutting when processing large game such as moose, deer and wild boar. Its proven blade profile provides excellent control for precise cuts when separating hide from meat, while remaining versatile enough for a wide range of hunting and outdoor tasks.
At the heart of the knife is Roselli’s own Ultra High Carbon (UHC) steel, developed for exceptional sharpness and outstanding edge retention. Hardened to approximately 64 HRC, the blade takes an exceptionally keen edge and holds it through demanding, precise cutting, meaning more time working with a sharp knife and less time resharpening.
The handle is crafted from stained curly birch and treated with linseed oil for a secure and comfortable grip, even in wet or cold conditions. A ferrule made from 925 sterling silver gives this version its distinctive character, while the natural grain and pattern of the curly birch make every knife unique.
Each knife is crafted, sharpened and finished by hand in Harmoinen, Finland. It comes with a handcrafted sheath made from dark, vegetable-tanned Finnish leather and fitted with a metal spring that holds the knife securely in place while carrying it.
Roselli UHC steel is optimized for exceptional sharpness and long-lasting edge retention. Like any high-hardness knife steel, it performs best with smooth, controlled cutting rather than striking against bone or other very hard materials.
